As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread and impacts all of our daily lives, we wanted to send a quick message to our clients, ensuring you of our continued operations here at BladeNode. While it is impossible to prepare for a situation of this magnitude adequately, we have built our business over the years to develop for emergency scenarios to ensure the continuity of your services with us.

While we continue to adapt to the impacts COVID-19 is having on our operations, both internally and in working with partners and providers, we want to assure you we are taking all precautions possible to make sure your sites and services are not impacted. Our team is also working to ensure we can continue providing the 24/7/365 support you’ve come to expect from us over the years. Though there may be periods where our replies are slower than average due to impacts on staffing, our team is still here and doing our best to assist you as quickly as possible.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding if you do experience slower than expected response/resolution times to your tickets. We care deeply about our clients and providing the service you deserve from BladeNode, but the health and safety of our staff is our top priority in the climate created by the spread of COVID-19.

In times like these, we also understand how your own operations and your use of our services may be impacted. Whether it’s reduced sales through your site, a lack of available webmaster/development staff, or anything in between, we want to be your partner and help you get through this wherever possible. If COVID-19 is financially impacting your ability to continue services with us, or you encounter technical issues you’d otherwise bring to your internal webmasters/developers, please don’t hesitate to reach out. While we can’t promise the extent to which we can help, we’ll do what we can to alleviate the burden we’re all seeing from this pandemic.

We at BladeNode wanted to do a small part in helping to find a solution for this unfortunate epidemic. Starting immediately, we have decided to take all the spare servers that we currently have and transferring them into folding@home services.

Folding@home (FAH or F@h) is a distributed computing project for simulating protein dynamics, including the process of protein folding and the movements of proteins implicated in a variety of diseases. It brings together citizen scientists who volunteer to run simulations of protein dynamics on their personal computers. Insights from this data are helping scientists to better understand biology and providing new opportunities for developing therapeutics.

We can’t do this alone, so we have asked our staff and our amazing customers to help in this epidemic battle. We invite everyone that can spare their computers, laptops, and servers to help out in this endeavor.

To encourage others to join our team. We have set up a friendly competition to see who has the highest folding points in a single week. once a week, we will award a current Customer with credit that they can use to pay their invoices or Apply it to any of our services. ( except dedicated servers). If you like to be part of this fantastic project, please open up a support ticket or email our owner Vladimir Stafford. vlad@bladenode.com. For further information regarding this project, please go to https://foldingathome.org/  Please join our team (Team ID: 249153).

I know this post is exceptionally long, and we appreciate that you have read this important message entirely. On behalf of our staff, we wanted to thank everyone for your dedication to helping us in this unprecedented time. Please stay safe and healthy.

Stay Home, Stay Safe.
